by • October 12, 2017 • Album Reviews342

Halifax native’s debut on Vancouver’s Mint Records. The band was originally formed in 2012 and now emerges fully formed and distinctive wearing the influence of Modern Lovers, Wire and early Talking Heads. They are touring Japan this month where the CD was released on Dead Funny Records and if you buy your copy from Mint while the band is away you get 10% off. Eleven original tracks, the band cites Devo and Sparks as influences. They favour melodic hooks married to slightly experimental sounds, so they can be familiar and disorienting at the same time.  The song writing chores are shared by guitarists Mark and Scott Grundy while Cheryl Hann and Nathan Doucet provide the rhythm section.
